UAE broker ratings

I've added a rating system (0-5 stars) to the UAE brokers information pages (I saw the request today in the Emirates International / Daman broker discussion).

Voting is restricted to once per IP. That's not a great system with the dynamic IP addressing that Etisalat uses in the UAE, but better than no restriction and will have to do for now. Another way is to have user registration and login to sharewadi.com pages. I'd rather not do that.

If you do hit the IP limit when you rate a broker, but you know you didn't rate it already, try again after 30-60 minutes, or the next day, when your IP address has probably changed. Or try from another location.

Some corporate networks will have fixed IPs so waiting won't make any difference.

At the moment, the ratings only appear on the individual broker information pages. I'll try and incorporate them into the broker lists at a later date. Remind me by replying here if I forget .

I'll also change the star colors to red/orange/green for different levels.

Please reply here if there's any problems with it. The system is almost untested (I tried just a couple of ratings) so feedback is appreciated.

When viewing ratings, bear in mind that all 5 star ratings, or all 0 star ratings are not likely to be very accurate. Brokers may give themselves 5 star ratings, or competitors may give them 0 star ratings. Over time, with more input from more customers, the ratings should more accurately represent public perception. So please add your ratings .
