mubasher.net looks like it might do online trading but it's not obvious how, or which broker it's associated with. The live feeds appear to be the same as what you can get from the DFM, ADSM, or SCA sites.
[edit] mubasher.net supplies financial information, similar to tickerchart.com from what I see on their website. No evidence of online trading and they're not a broker anyway? [/edit]
Mubasher (from Direct Broker for Financial Services)
Actually, the online trading part is called Mubasher Trade (ShareWadi information). They advertised recently in the Gulf News a couple of times, and you can find their website at mubashertrade.com
I opened an account with them to give it a try. Need to transfer shares and/or cash to get it going - you don't get username/password until shares/cash in the account.
Main difference that I could see is that you download software to your computer and use that for trading online, rather than through a website. Talked to one of the tech guys there and he said it uses SSL so security should be fine. Software looked quite sophisticated. If you've used the stuff from tickerchart.com, it's similar in that it has all the historical data and technical indicators you need. Well, perhaps not everything but enough to keep you busy while the markets are closed .
Oh, and they are trading online for Abu Dhabi Securities Market (ADSM), not sure if any others do yet.
There's quite a lengthy document to read and sign (every page!). You need the usual paperwork. Passport (original needs to be sighted), another ID, ADSM and/or DFM investor cards (bring originals). Probably need residency in your passport, I didn't ask.
Cost is stated as 750 dhs per quarter if total (shares + cash) balance is below AED 100,000. I was told when I arrived there that it would be AED 200 per month. Then they said no charge initially, that's still to be implemented. Time frame unknown.
Office is in Trade Center, 14th floor. Tel 04-2696445 or toll-free 8003237. Also registration locations in Sofitel City Center (Deira City Center in Dubai) and Le Meridian Hotel in Abu Dhabi, you should phone and check if those registration centers are still open and at what times.
They're not connected with a bank (like ADFS or EIB for example) but they did tell me you can do transfers to and from your account via their bank account without having to physically go there. They take your bank account details when you sign up to facilitate that.
Some info on the page related to this broker does not seem correct, as per my experience. It is possible that they have changed the rules.
The current situation seems to be like this:
1 -There are no costs or minimum balance required for this broker, this is what they told me when I wanted to open an account with them.
2 - There is a link for English website:
http://www.mubashertrade.com/MubasherPriceWeb/load.do?lang=en
3 - You can trade directly from anywhere online through the website:
https://secure.mubashertrade.com/MubasherTradeWeb/loginPopup.do?lang=en&exng=DFM
4 - No need to install software (not mandatory), I have done some trading directly from web without installing the software that they gave me in a CD, although the software is better for charts, analysis and some extra facilities.
Actual performance or quality can only be measured if all these brokers are compared feature by feature against each other. It would be nice if someone who trades through different brokers can mention some advantages or disadvantages.
